Sunday 29 January 2012
Where are all the prophets gone? They haven’t gone away. They haven’t gone anywhere. They are here in our midst. A prophet is not required to take a study course to become one and so they don’t add a title before their name or use letters after their name. A prophet is a woman or man, young or old, of any race or culture whose life gives a striking witness at this time to some aspect of Jesus’ life. That is how I see it. Sorry if it is still a bit vague but stick with me. It is not easy to capture in words the power and vitality of a person God calls as a witness to His love and ‘uses’ that person to bring alive the message of the Gospel in some striking way. Such people are all around us now.
